TomTom3 - Selecting shortest or Quickest routes

Is there a way to select shortest/quickest routes in the navigator mode.
I know there is an option in the 'Plan route A-B' button but do I have to input the 'From' details? This seems unnecessary when the gps knows my location!

It would be better to press 'Navigate to..' then 'Favourites' then choose shortest/quickest route then.

Any ideas please.

"Navigate to" always uses the quickest route.

To make things worse - even if you plan from A to B, as soon as you have a deviation from the route and cause a recalculation, TomTom Navigator will also fall back to Quickest Route, no matter what you selected before.

You either accept it or use a different software.

I have found that whatever settings you use .. it takes the Bus Route.
even if your start and end was on the same road, the software would work out a route that you never expected.

or maybe it's 'Taxi Driver' routing (hey why go direct when you can add a few miles to the journey)
