Found this new web site for the Aldi Medion 95000, shows you how to install the Safety Camera POI's. Has also got some sound files.

A new link on the web site now includes an option to download the instructions with Black text on a Light Grey background that is easier to read.

As the thread has been reopened, I just wanted to say a big thank you to Pocketgps for the effort that was placed in producing the guide at http://www.sim98.freeserve.co.uk/AMN/index.htm
THanks very much for this very detailed guide, was very easy to follow, simple step by step instructions, and idiot-proof info (which was great for me) :D
Thanks. |

Yeah, thanks for this.
I've got an older Aldi bundle, and downloaded the wavs for the various types of camera.
No more Teutonic "upcoming dangerzone" giving me nightmares !! |

I to used this guide and managed to do it and it worked first time. Does any know of some other voice warning wav files that could be used? Is it possible to have a speed sign a speed symbol with the correct speed camera |

As you have downloaded the sound files you will see that you can contact me from a link there, I can make some new sound files for you, but they need to be short like the ones I have already included on the web site.
eg. Warning, dangerous bend ahead
I will make a new page on my web site for suggested new sound files in the next week or so. Only sensible suggestions will be made, and I will not guarantee that I will make them at all.

8. Then click Start on your Pocket PC - Programs - then start POI-Warner
and configer each of the tabs, this takes a bit of learning so is much to long to post here, but its not that hard.
I have looked long and hard but just cant work out how to configure each tab
I can load the pocketgps_UK_gatso into source, show POI comes up with a load of contents but really from there I'm stuck, any help on this would be great.
Thanks Scot |
If you go to Start - Programs - POI-Warner (Medion Navigator 4) then tap to start that program.
Now you will see a tab at the bottom called POI-Manager, tap that then the POI-Settings, then Acoustic alert, now on the the screen you will see that there is a drop down menu at the top:
POI: pocketgps_uk_gatso, to the right of this is a black down facing arrow, if you click that you can select another item, eg. pocketgps_uk_mobile etc and then select how you want that to function with the settings below, lick on the General tab, or First Warning etc.
Just select on the dropdown menu all the differnt types one at a time then set it up how you want it to function.
You can also do this on the:
POI-Manager - POI-Settings - Overlay settings.
If you don't see the correct items in the drop down menu, then there is also a +/- key to add them.
Hope this helps.

Problems, problems,problems!!!
Hi! followed your instructions and dowloaded poi warner etc. Got right through to step 7 and copied the files to my pocket pc etc , but when i go into poi warner there are zero poi''s monitored (red x not green tick) and when i go into activate/show overlays, pocket-uk-gatso does not appear as a drop down choice so i can go no further. What have i done wrong? what can i do now? Any help greatly appreciated.
ps pocketgps your efforts so far have been brill.
pps poi's i activated (cashpoints ,airports etc ) display fine.

Hi Dave

Next to the window on the Activate/Show overlays there is a +/- box, try tapping that, you should then be able to add the poi files.
Have a look at the LAST images on this page:

Hi pocketgps,
thanks for your reply. I've tried that but the pocket-uk-gatso etc files are not there, only ukairports and a few others that i entered. perhaps i didn't copy the files properly from pc. will try that again.
Cheers
