I would like a receiver that can be fixed outside, the car, similar to those on american SUV's like the Escalade, but can not seem to find any info on where in the UK to get them. Anyone know what is the best type of external receiver to have.

Alternatively you can use an internal receiver with a MCX connector and an external antenna. I am using the Deluo BlackBox receiver -it sits in the trunk, and the antenna is attached to the roof with a strong magnet. Just a question of how to get the antenna cable through the car body (I simply guide it over the back door rubber)

Have you any links to where to get this from. I am realy after something that you could permanently fix to the car, but mag mount would be fine. I do not have a problem with the tomtom internal wired one, it is just my dash is soooo full of gear, I could do with a full time aerial, and use the wired one for other applications. I spend most of the time in my MPV going back and forward to the main UK airports, but have to use a coach from time to time, so it would be ideal to use the wired unit in that.
