just bought Tomtom Go from globalpositioning systems with their
"Writeshield AG 1-pak" It was a good fit on the GO screen but stickyside easily attracts dust etc as you fit it. After using the GO a bit it seemed to completely lock up, with screen taps not possible. I discovered luckily, as you have, that the protector had got itself beneath the screen frame mainly due to my efforts at sliding the maps around. The gap must be just a bit smaller than the protector thickness and this creates a constant "screen key press"
Otherwise as a beginner, gob smacked at the terrific overall performance of the GO. Thanks to you all for this wonderfull site |

I have just started using a screen protector from the Brando Workshop. I thought it was expensive at first (about £6) but I can thoroughly recomment it. Its easy to apply completely cuts out reflections and makes the TTG much more useable even in direct sun light. You can even remove the sheet and wash it!! The TTG's main drawback is its screen is hopeless in sunlight - this product eliminates the problems - why TomTom dont modify their production to incorporate this or something similar is beyond me.

I found that if you wash it , shake it almost dry then put it on any remaining moisture reduces the cling and makes it easy to position and squeeze the air bubbles out to the edges. _________________ Life's a bitch... then I met Jane... |

If its applied slightly wet then the bubbles go after a day or so as it dries out. Not had any problems with mine _________________ Life's a bitch... then I met Jane... |

had my TOMTOMGO since October and haven't had the need for a screen anti glare protector - I just left the thin bit of plastic on the screen that came with TOM -- :D
However the SUN 8) is now shining and this makes the screen particularly difficult to see. So today
- following the instructions to the letter
- even washing my hands with soap
- cleaned the screen with the brush
- then the wipe and then polished it off so as to "see your reflection"
- I fitted the little bit of plastic with a small gap around the edge
- no air bubbles or any thing.... GREAT...
took it out side to try and THE SUN HAS GONE IN !!! _________________ Happy to meet -- Sorry to part -- Happy to meet again |

Sun was out on a trip the other day - just before it snowed...
I feel that the anti glare protector isn't that brilliant.. It seems to reflect more of what is in the vehicle -- for example if you are wearing a light top or shirt that seems to be reflected back and the definition of the screen colours is lost..
Not that impressed... _________________ Happy to meet -- Sorry to part -- Happy to meet again |

NuShield screen protectors do not use adhesives to stick to the screen so there are no Air bubble problems!!!
At this point there are no screen protectors that work in direct sunlight. Anyone who says theirs does is lying.
NuShield films are easy to install and each film will last about one year of normal use. That is a claim that most adhesive types cannot make.
NuShield films cost only $11.99 for 3, a bargain compared to others.
You can order NuShield films at: http://www.nushield.com/buy.htm
Just use the Manufacturer pulldown menu to select TomTom and then select Go under model.
If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them if you post it here. |

Just received 'digital camera screen protector kit' from www.7dayshop.com for £1.99. Comes with three 10cm X 8cm screen protectors, cleaning wipes and a squeegee card to help you apply.
Cut one to size and hey presto looks fine.
Maybe VERY slightly more reflective but does the job.
Problem is the £3.95 postage. But you could combine it with an SD card or whatever. |

I use "Acetate Film" bought at any Arts & Craft shops for a couple of quid.
The type you require is Economy Clear Acetate 20 in. x15 in. sheet .003" thick. Cut it to size, you get about 15 to 20 pieces. They do the job perfectly. |
I am fed up trying to find this product Gingernut ! I must have the wrong sort of model shops in my area ?? none have heard of this ? can you give me a Phone number of a shop that will sell me a sheet of the anti reflective sort please m8 ? would be most greatfull :D |
