TTN3 - USA - Can I just buy the maps?

I'll be going there soon (Florida) and already having TTN3, I thought I could just buy the maps, or upgrade my "licence" to include the USA maps, but it seems I have to buy the whole USA package.

Does anyone know a (legal) way around this?

My wife is in New York in a couple of days. Is it worth her buying it there? Will it be cheaper? I cannot find a USA cost ($) for a purchase in any local New York City shops? Can our American cousins help here?

There is a recent thread where I asked the same question and apparently the new US maps WILL work with TT3 UK.

I have ordered a set of maps and will be able to confirm this once I receive them.
