A couple of months I have a Rikaline 6030 BT GPS receiver in combination with a HP IPAQ 1940.

Which is verry annoying is that the BT connection between my IPAQ and GPS is not properly initiating resulting in a Bluetooth error message on my IPAQ.

Only a next starting up attempt by completely resetting the IPAQ and switching the GPS on/off sometimes solves this.
But often I have to repeat this maybe 8 times to get 1 successfull connection.

When my BT connection initiates OK then the navigation is working fine.

Can someone help me with this ?

are the devices paired? If so, try to remove the pairing. Sometimes it gets in the way, and it's not actually required for GPS receivers

No my devices are not paired.

So that's not the solution.

Hmm... short of patching the Widcomm BT stack with a later version (a la XDA II) nothing comes to mind... Is your iPAQ on the latest ROM?
