POI-Edit syncing with TungstenT3 and TTN3

I all, new to the forum and in need of some help....!!

I have a Tungsten T3 with a 256MB SD card, TTN3 and Holux GR-230 bluetooth GPS, works fantastic.

Just down loaded POI-Edit as i want to add some POI's to the tom tom.

problem

when i try to add a poi i get the warning
"remote API library not found, make sure you have Activesync installed"

i don't really want to install activesync (does it work with palm OS), i'm happy with hotsync. Does it have to use Activesync ?

any ideas
