Syson GPS CF Plus II with laptop

Hi

I have recently purchased a hp pavilion zv5383 laptop and would like to use my cf gps card in the pcmcia slot via a pc card adapter.

I have installed the latest driver from the syson website but when I insert the card in to the slot after a few seconds the laptop freezes until I remove the card again.

I am relatively new to gps and laptops so any help would be appreciated.

Hmm... maybe there is a conflict with other hardware/software on your laptop. Which COM port is created by the SysOnChip driver?

I'ts using com port 7 which is not being used by any other device. I've also tried changing it, with no luck.

This doesn't sound good. Do you have another notebook where you can test it?

The gps card works perfectly in my ipaq 5550, but at the minute I don't have access to another laptop although I may be able to have a go on my nephews when santa's been Smile
