Posted: Thu Sep 09, 2004 7:58 pm Post subject: How do I copy large Tomtom files to my iPaq? |
|
|
I have an iPaq 3870.
I've got an old copy of some Tomtom maps.
I have to copy the files accrosss directly.
The problem is that I can't copy accross anything bigger than 50MB.
The connection just conks out!
I've been told by a posting to iPaq forums that I need to get a memory card reader.
But I think that's stooopid!
I should be able to copy any size file I like!
I've asked Tomtom - 2 weeks later no answer.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Is there a file splitter program I can use?
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Get yourself a stoooopid memory card reader. Not the smartest solution but by far the least painful. _________________ Lutz

An SD card reader revolutionised my life. Installing TomTom maps (which I do a lot) used to take 15 minutes or more. Now it takes 2 minutes. Well worth the tenner! |

Hhmm....I have the same problem when I try to do this using ActiveSync on my Dell Laptop, but if I use ActiveSync on my Dell Desktop there is no problem, apart from it taking 15 minutes. _________________ Beefy

Sync using the serial connection is sometime more reliable than USB. |

a USB 2.0 memory card reader was one of my better investments, and when I was away and forgot to take it with me it was another of my better investments
Always nice to be able to load ½ gig of data in under 5 minutes 8) |
