Hi

Just wondering, has anyone actually returned the Medion PPC back to Aldi due to the battery cover problem?

Just wondering. I bought 2 of the above but hate them because of the battery cover. Yeah I've tried sellotape, but it's a bit of an arse when you are out and about and the unit needs resetting (by removing the battery cover) and the sellotape looses it's tack.

I contacted Medion but all they suggested was that I take more care when popping it in and out of the cradle, and "try to stretch the leather holster" so the release button doesn't come into contact with it.

Aldi offer a no quibble refund so assuming it's still within the period (I can't recall what it is, possibly 1 year?) then all you have to do is return it in it's original packaging to an Aldi store.

On a side note, there is no need to remove the battery to perform a soft reset, if you need to perform hard resets frequently then something's wrong somewhere?

Another reader here returned there 40600 and then picked up the newer bundle and bought it saving a few quid and getting a later model! Of course these have now gone but you could put it towards a iPAQ and TTNav.

I took a nail file and carefully filed the little pips off the release catch. Since then, the cover hasn't fallen off again. The problem is that the pips are sharp and catch on the edge of the case when removing. I can still open the cover without the pips with absolutely no problems.
