Hi all. New to the Forum.

Am using a Navigator Bluetooth with an iPAQ 4350. Works a treat although some of the routes it gives are a bit questionable!

Three basic questions

1. Are there any updates available for either the TomTom software or the South of England map? Not certain how to find out what versions I have.

2. I would really like to add speed-camera warnings. What's my best course of action?

3. The TomTom docuemntation says it comes with a car charging lead but it didn't. Where can I get one, preferably that charges both the GPS and the iPAQ?

Thanks guys.

to answer you questions as best i can

1 sorry the map data supplied on the cd is the only one available to untill the next release of navigator

2 checkpoint is good 2.02 is the easier of two versions to set up 3.02 will give you to many pois the MAY cause a problem or may not

did you buy the car kit if you bought the blue tooth version then there should be a small lead with a sqaure conector on one end this is the car lead you may need to get a y cable for the ipaq and gps

oh and if you installed just of the disc then youll have version 3.00 there are updates available from the tt site
hope that helps

Alix (or anyone else),

Thanks for your response.

Have checked and it appears that I have the latest tomtom/mapping software.

Loaded Checkpoint but it doesn't have mapping built-in. So downloaded GPSAssist but couldn't get this to load on the iPAQ. Is there an all-in-one answer?

The only lead that came with the tomtom has a RJ (data type) plug on one end and a power 'barrel' plug on the other. What I need is a cigar lighter plug on one end and two power plugs on the other to provide 5v to the two devices. Can I buy one of these?

Thanks,

Mike

sounds like you need to get yourself a car cradle kit, mine came with the Tom Tom one for the 2210 Ipaq PDA. The pda slots into the cradle, the gps receiver plugs into the cradle, the cradle plugs intot eh ciggie lighter and powers both.

CheckPOInt is a POI Plug-In for TomTom Navigator, it needs to run at the same time as TomTom and provides visual and audible alerts for those POIs that you have configured it to warn for.
