I recently added a POI for use with my IPaq 2210. I'm using TT Navigator 2 (USA), and after adding the POI I cannot access any of the default PIO's. When I access my POI database the only POI that comes up is the one I added. How do I fix this? I no longer really need the POI I added and I would like my default POI's back. Thanks in advance.

I think the POI that you added is in an OV2 file. The standard Tom Tom POIs are held differently to user created POIs, So I reckon that if you go to the maps folder on the PDA and delete any OV2 files you'll be clean again. Make a back up of anything you delete first though.

How do I check to see if it is an OV2 file? Would I use pocket explorer to delete the file if indeed it is an OV2 file? I'm using an IPaq 2210. Thanks again.

Yep, use file explorer, look in the folder that contains the maps and then look for a file with a .OV2 extension. Not easy on the PDA, because file explore is so cut price. Connect your PDA over active sync to your PC and do it from Windows explorer. There will also be .BMP to go with the.OV2. You can also delete that.

Ok thank you very much. What is the best way to add a POI so this doesn't happen again?

Adding POI's shouldn't be, and isn't usually a problem. I have added them either bulk loading from Excel files or by holding the stylus on the map screen and 'adding' a single POI.

I think in this case (assuming the deletion of this 'user' POI solves you problem) you just got unlucky.

One thing that Tom Tom is quite sensitive to, is the .BMP file if it's not formatted correctly. If you created the POI for you from within Tom Tom this shouldn't be a problem. Although is you accidently deleted the .BMP file then it might get upset. Just a thought

Ok, thank you. I will give it another go and try adding another POI.
