Lets say I took off from airport A going to checkpoint B and C and landing at airport D. If I create this route using the "Routes" option, is it possible to know my distance from A, B C or D anything during my flight even though I have passed these points?

Thanks...

Most Garmins have an "Off Road" option for routing (along with Faster Time or Shorter Route). This will give you a compass pointer and cross track error and you can customise the display to show distance to next, speed, altitude, rate of climb etc.

To create the route, mark waypoints for A,B,C and D using Mapsource. Set the routing type to "Off Road" in Mapsource's preferences. and then create a route between them. Upload the route to your GPS and away you go!

You may want to try this at home before you fly with it. 8O

If you are using the GPS on a commercial flight then there is some advice and information about it in this thread:

Good luck! Thumbs Up

Well firstly I don't have MapSource and don't have a data cable either. Secondly, I dont plan on using my GPS on a commercial flight. Is there anyway see how far I am from those points without altering my flight plan in the "Routes" menu?

Thanks again...
