|

Hi,
Firstly, this is a fantastic website - i've found SO much useful information on here.
Now the problem ...
Today i received my Mitac Mio 168 and it came with Tom Tom Nav 3 software. I am able to get the GPS to work in Tom Tom if I use the external GPS receiver, but I cannot get it to work if i use the in-built receiver.
Is anyone able to inform me as to the correct GPS settings within Tom Tom Nav 3 to get the built in GPS receiver to work correctly ? My main reason for choosing this Pocket PC was so that I didn't NEED to use an external GPS receiver (thus enabling me to have less wiring in the car, and be able to plan routes away from the car).
Many thanks for any help offered.

Just bought the same, no instructions for gps driver settings. I found the answer on this site. Mine is set to tomtom wireless on port sp2. You may find if you have UV coated windows on your car that it will only work with the external antenna.

OK, on the ASSUMPTION that the requirements are the same as for the Navman PiN, which is essentially the same device with different software, try COM Port 2 with a speed of 4800. _________________ Tim |

Thanks for your help guys.
Funnily enough, i've tried the unit again today, and it is now picking up the Satellites on the same settings as I was using for the external receiver.
I don't think i'll adjust it as it appears to be working. Not sure why there was an issue to start with.
Cheers,
