Well its not working for me,keeps knocking me back to v4.2

What directories do you have in the root of your SD card?

This may be the cause of trouble TomTom have reorganised the SD structure and added some new directories..

This is interesting as my card has a lot more directories in it.

Now I am wondering if this is bacause I effectively have a full version 5 install fron scratch. Tomorrow I will pull out my old 4,42 card and do an update on it and see what I get.

I just updated my 4.40 system using 314 maps.

The whole process was totally painless, and I wasnt asked to activate the maps again. The final CD root directory image looks like the following:

The itn directory wasnt there when I completed the upgrade, but appeared after starting the application after the upgrade.

Great upgrade, now I can actually see the speed on the screen easily, and I love the way it turns on automatically when you clip it on the car mount.....great!

best regards David

What I noticed was that when are asked to select Instal Apllication it doesn't come up with V5:00 as V4.42 did.

When I installed V5 on mine and also a friends, I was asked to activate the maps! So what is different?

Not a great problem, but puzzling.

Installed v5 no problem, did not have to activate, why do some people have to re-activate ?
My only comment is that when I switch the engine off and TTG is fed power via the cig lighter then TTG turns off, no sweat I know but diferent.
V5 worth waiting for.

Upgraded to V5 all ok here, using the latest version of TamTam for Macintosh.

The only slight niggle was that audio warnings for POI's stopped working, because they've changed some of the sounds I guess.

Going back into 'warn when near poi' and re-allocating the sounds for our beloved Rolling Eyes revenue cameras did the trick.

I notice that the warning I use, the siren-sounding one, now goes three times which gives more of an alert when nearing a "safety" camera.

So far so good - I like the new software. Being able to customise the display is excellent (as are lots of other things!)

Regards,

Ashley

Hi Richard
Mine won't take the v5 upgrade for some reason, every time I try it goes back to version 4.2???????
I have even reformated the card and loaded the TTG software from the
CD that comes with the unit and done the upgrades from TT website all ok until I try v5 and it wont have it, so I don't know now what needs to be done to sort it.
I dont have anything like that number of files in the root of the SD card.
It will all work out in the end I suppose.

I saw somewhere that this problem has happened before, and the TTG SD card had to be copied to the PC, the SD card was cleared (deleted) and V5 installed. The Map folder was then copied back to the TTG and re-activated. I don't know if this is the solution for you though. Worth a try.

Lutz has also re-done the warning sounds for the data.chk.

when you run the update, i suggest that when the installer says its finished leave your go plugged in for at least a minute afterwards.
if you unlug it straightaway you will find it has not completed the update.
