I have been waiting for the Navman 4470 to start shipping and starting to lose patience. Navman don't sell them direct and none of the UK companies can provide a date (end of March, Mid- April end of April etc..) of when they are going to have them in stock.

Navman won't provide a reduced cost upgrade if I buy a 4460 then upgrade to Smart ST 3 and I don't fancy paying double.

I thought that maybe I should purchase the software only and buy a Bluetooth receiver.

So my question is : will any Bluetooth Receiver work with the Navman SmartST 3 software (I asked Navman and they would not give me a straight answer) and the Palm T3?

Thanks in advance.

Most BT GPS should work fine but the problem is if you do buy another GPS and you get problems Navman will prob not support you as its not there hardware. I would think hard about waiting

Thanks for the reply. I nearly went and bought the Navman 4460 anyway from Comet as it was only 169.99 and they had it in stock. I decided to wait for 4470 as SmartST 3 is obviously much better and compatible with the POI camera database etc...

Guess I will just wait though - seems to make more sense :P

The V3 software isn't tied to any particular device. I have successfully used it with a Garmin GPS10 as well as my two Navman receivers. However, as to whether or not it will work with any receiver, I wouldn't like to say. Oh, and this relates to PPC, not Palm device....

The 4470 is showing as 'in stock' at Clove and RoutePlanners to name two.

Not according to the clove site and not to mention the price is around £30 more expensive than Expansys. They seem to have taken RRP and added on vat!

I have left a message for routeplanners to see if they do have them in stock, last time I emailed them they did not.

What I have found is that some sites say they are in stock but when you contact them they don't, mynewcheap.co.uk is one such site as it was listed in stock around a month ago but wasn't.

Thanks for the reply.

Routeplanners have just called and they do have them in stock. Going to pick it up tomorrow as they are not far away from where I work. Only £7 more expensive than Expansys by the time the delivery is included so well worth it as it means I get it sooner :P

Thanks for the site reminder :D

Hi all, my first post on here :D
I have been in the exact same position as G4Shallow, and yesterday ordered online from routeplanners. I've just had an email from them confirming delivery took place this morning, so it should be waiting for me when I get home Thumbs Up
Can't fault routeplanners, very quick response to emails, and lightening fast delivery.
Worth the few quid extra compared to expansys, to get it so quickly
