How does TMC rerouting work in Navigon.

Does navigon know an approximate delay time to decide if to reroute or ignore? or does it try to avoid all delays notified by TMC

How does it work in practice?

As part of the TMC message, I believe, there is an approx time for the delay to clear. If this is long than the re-route time, then it will take you on an alternative route.

Having said that, in a year of driving, I've only ever seen it re-route me once or twice, mostly it just drives you through the traffic.

Also as you cannot (easily) change the speed that you drive on differing road types, how much time you save or loose by being rerouted is a hit or miss affair. Rolling Eyes
