Hi all,

I have purchased an ACER N35 with integrated GPS and I am having problem with the clock. It is being delayed each time I use the GPS.
Have you ever heard of this issue ? If yes, how should I solve it ?

Thanks

Hi,

The N35 is very nice..I would still recommand it. I think that I am a bit unlucky with mine because of this clock issue (most probably bad luck on my device).
In the N35 pack you receive a N35 car holder without speaker..but it is ok like this. You can still hear very well the navigation voices.

I hope this helps.

just would like to know whether u can hear acer over the car stereo noise? thanks. Smile

Of course if you put the volume of your stereo too high you will not hear very well....But If you find the right balance it will be ok !

Cheers!

I have had no issues with the clock and have used the n35 as a satnav machine quiet a bit now. As for the speaker again no issues. You would have to have your music very loud to mask the n35(destinator) voice out or make it difficult to hear.

To me it is a very good value for money option, if you start having to spend money on it to solve perceived problems them you may as well buy a more expensive device.

hi,

Thanks for your note.
I believe that I am unlucky and that my specific device has this harware issue...As all people are happy with it.
Have you tired to install and use TomTom navigator 3 with it ?

Thanks.

No, Destinator does the job fine for me. I have not used the other alternatives and it will be interesting to see if TT5 is compatable.

I think if I were to upgrade I would wait for the next gen software to become availible as any benefits that may exist in the current crop I do not think outweigh the purchase price of that software.

i got little concerned with this review i found in ZDnet uk site re: acer's destinator giving directions around round abouts and left turns and forks!! Confused
http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/handhelds/0,39023875,39192121,00.htm

can anbody who used this acer please shed some light? i personally tend to take wrong turns at roundabouts and this worries me Rolling Eyes

The software only issues instructions when it thinks you need to negotiate a major junction, and sometimes ignores left turns or forks in the road. This means that you need to glance at the screen more than you should while driving -- something that really should be rectified.

We also felt that the roundabout instructions weren’t as clear as those from some other navigation programs. At one point we were nonplussed on leaving a roundabout and entering a long straight stretch of road to be given further roundabout instructions, followed by the fact that this was several kilometres away. This is a simple error: let's have the distance to next decision point first, and then the instructions on what to do there

I was first checking if someone else had this problem.
I guess that I am the first one ;-)
I will then send it back to ACER.

Thanks
