Hi,

I have an XDA2 that used to lock up all the time whilst using Tomtom 3 bluetooth.

I have now upgrade the rom using the below program and it works perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!! The added advantage is that it has unlocked the xda 2 to use any simm card. The rom upgrade is for a qtek2020 (which is the same unit, but not locked to the o2 network).

The upgrade is very very simple, it does it all for you. It works perfectly with english units :-)

Hope this helps

Hi all and especially Darren

The upgrade went OK. A few gotchas but all in all a good mve.

Gotchas
1. Install the Ext ROM unlock program first and unlock it, then disable the pad lock utility at the start of config file. If you forget this or don't do it first a soft boot allows access to the PDA. To install the program copy the cab file to the My Docs directory on the PDA and double click it from there- it took me a while to find this out!
2. Tom Tom doesn't work in landscape mode so forget that as well.
3. I had to reinstall the camera sopftware on my XDA from the cab file on the ext rom.
4. I also had to reinstall the O2 specific cabs to get GPRSA working again.

Device info version now reads
ROM Version: 2.02.t1WWE
ROM date: 05/17/04
Radio version: 1.18.0
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: <blank???>

HTH and thanks Darren for your help.

Best regards
Andrew

Now to get Tom Tom to release Irish maps
