Just trying out my new set up but can not get the ipac to see the gps.
I will go through what I have done to see if anybody has any ideas.
ipaq 2210 pluged into a brodit hard wired mount.
royaltek saphire gps
because ps2on mount and gps are not the same plugs have been cut and wired direct.
All 4 wires correct to brodit and royaltek diagrams
5volt feed ok to gpsfrom brodit holder
Tried to install royaltek gps checkprogram but said it is not a pda program and will not run.
The gps docs state no driver needed to run.
Loaded winfast navigator ok.
comes up message device plug in DSK2
click ok
go into port settings
message could`nt find value
click ok and try different com port and click ok
blank screen
tried all ports and nothing.
tried moving gps about as I am trying this in the house to test with a transformer and keep trying the gps in the window.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help

In Winfast Navigator, set the port to COM1 and the speed to 4800 NMEA.

Then open the port and see if you get data. If not, swap the RxD and TxD wires.

I have read that when the icon is flashing it is getting data. It only does this on com1 so looks like that is ok.
I dont know what to do with this one.
First time with a pda and gps and a bag of trouble !

Don't try to connect a RS232 device to a USB port. You may have fried it by now...

I am no expert in serial protocols but I'm sure Google knows the answer.
