Copying maps from CD on a new 1 GB SD card

Next week I will get my new Sandisk 1 GB SD card. I will copy the maps of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein on this new card. Do I need only the map data or anything else?

If you still have some space to spare you will also want to copy the application CAB file onto the SD card. If your PDA then runs out of power it's much easier to get back up and running quickly

Is there any program code needed on the memory card with an iCN 510? I don't know - hence the question.

Sorry, didn't pay attention to the device. Not sure if the program is in ROM or on the storage card. I'd guess it's in ROM.

I just put a 1Gb "Fujifilm" SD card in mine. To copy over the maps I just dragged the contents to a folder on my desktop, swapped memory cards, and dragged them back. No formatting or anything like that required. I then used the Smart ST software to copy over the map of Southern Ireland.

Just treat it like an external drive, in effect that's all it is when it's connected via ActiveSync.
