I think the 6315 may be a bit weak to pull both the BT GPS receiver and the BT headset. After all it's only a 168 MHz processor.
At least in my tests with Mapopolis it crashes after a while. Haven't tried TomTom yet. _________________ Lutz

Hi there.
I tried the above procedure and didnt have the same luck. I installed TomTom and activated it. I successfully paired and connect to the GPS. I installed 2.07 from this website, and verified that it is running by looking in the gps applet (in the lower right corner).
I still can't see com7. I only see bluetooth com4 (and the other ports).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

- turn Bluetooth on
- go to Bluetooth Settings > Services > Serial Port
- make sure the service is enabled, and that the other two checkboxes are unchecked.
- tap on Advanced and confirm that you see the outbound COM port (7)
Pairing is not required.
Then go to BlueTooth Manager and confirm that you have a connection to the GPS under "My Shortcuts". If not, create one by exploring a BT device, discovering the (serial) service, and connecting to it. _________________ Lutz

Thank you for your help. I did try the above procedure. I do get a "connection" in bluetooth manager and the GPS does have the solid blue light on (not blinking) when I choose connect from the manager. But when I go into the TomTom GPS configuration I still don't see com7, only com4. It does show version 2.07 in the lower right corner.
My friend bought a tomtom with me at the same time, and is stuck at the same point. Thank you for all your help. |

Hi there i to have and ipaq 6365 and am having the same probem as the people above, ie. i cannot get the com port 7 to show up in the list under TomTom Wireless GPS. I have followed all the advise above.
And all the options in the drop down lists seem to be the same for any device i change to. I do not have the 'Crux_View' device.
Any help would be much appreciated as this is driving me crazy!!!
Best Regards,

Hi there. I installed crux_view. I see all ports 1-9. I tried connecting on every port from baud 4800 to 56k. I had no luck.
Ports 1,2,6,7,8,9 give me the error "COM Port can't open!!"
Ports 3,4,5, look like they connect for a while (no status, but no error either). Then after about 20-30 seconds it gives me the error "Read Error!!"
Thank You for your support. |

Ok, so I got this to work.
I hard reset the phone.
Installed the GPS 2.07 1st. Tested it here and it worked great.
Then I installed tomtom, but said no to upgrade GPS 2.07.
Then I installed the patch 2.24.
Everything works great now. Thank You for the help. |

Well thanks for the help far182, i tried what you said and it now works perfectly!!!
It seems to be running a little quicker now thanks to the hard reset, all the trial apps i installed/uninstalled when i first got the thing!!!
One thing i was wondering about was if you can use a bluetooth headset(Jabra BT250) at the same time as using tomtom with the wireless bluetooth gps?
Any help would be great. |

As I mentioned in another post this may be too much to expect from the processor on the 6315. I tried it with Mapopolis, and the application froze after a while. Haven't tried it with TomTom yet, though. _________________ Lutz

I've managed to get my IPAQ6365 talking to a Fortuna bluetooth receiver and a Parrot car handsfree kit at the same time. However, it appears that the first TomTom instruction only wakes up the bluetooth connection. Once the connection is up further directions are OK but as the directions are for a short duration and with long intervals between them, I just get the radio muting rather than directions.
I haven't had the IPAQ hang on me though.. |

I think the power save features of the headset are playing against us here. The voice instructions ae far enough in between to make the headset go to standby, and each new instruction struggles to get heard because the headset is slow to wake up. We would need some low volume sound (a piece of music for example) that would play continuously and keep the headset awake. _________________ Lutz

I have got a 6340, and using tt3, via bluetooth receiver. Tried all of the above, to no avail. Any further ideas?
Just can't get GPS receiver to have Bluetooth serial port 7. Presumably other things are using this port? Is there a way I can jiggy around with the port numbers?
Any advice greatly received! |

completely remove the TTGPS 3.x driver (make very sure it is really gone), and reinstall the TTGPS 2.07 from our downloads page. _________________ Lutz

aha! Solved it!!!!
I went to http://www.pocketpc-club.nl/content.php?id=3500
and downloaded a .cab file. Then copied that using activesync to my ipaq, then using the ipaq file explorer double clicked it.
THEN.. did a soft reset, and when I went in to the GPS ports, Bluetooth serial port 7 was there. Selected it, and then it all worked!
I hope that this helps others. |
