So it's looking like the 2017 units haven't been nobbled and third party alerts work just fine.

Thanks again for all comments.

I am sorely tempted to go for the 50 as Halfords are offering £100 off.

You all must appreciate that "once bitten" etc.

Amazon are offering the Driveluxe 50 LMT-D for the same price (or thereabouts), so I have ordered one from them. It's arriving tomorrow (Wed). Question - it will no doubt suggest I update to the latest software/maps but would it be safer to load the PGPSW speed cameras first, just in case? If I don't do that and I subsequently find that the camera database won't work, would I be able to load an earlier version of the software and if so, how? Alternatively, would it be possible to first back up what is supplied with the device somehow? One other related question - if I purchase a new speed cameras subscription, is it refundable if it can't be used, e.g., if Garmin have put a block on it somehow?

When I get a new device I first back everything up, then start fiddling. Not sure about getting a refund but all the evidence is the speed cameras will work.

Once you've proved that then update ... The latest update works with the cameras from here also.

it could be that the junction i come off the motorway m621 - j4 the garmin displays a grey banner telling me to continue along the m621 to j3 (it does then from around j5 the turn-off for beeston)

the same when come back through hunslet the banner is grey telling me to head towards the m621

which suggests this is a garmin map issue

You can also check (and edit/report) the map data here: https://mapcreator.here.com

Might be worth checking the source data manually before alerting Garmin - it might not be a Garmin issue per se.

You can still notify Garmin or Here of the error.

Well I took all you guys assurances and bought a 50.

I am really p***d of to say that PGPSW cameras do not work. I don't know what warnings you all get but I get no voice warning or bong.

The other thing that I get is with all proximity warnings not enabled I get every bend, school, animal crossing?? etc.

I feel now I am at the end of the road with me and the new generation of navigators.
