Tom Tom 3 Shortcut on screen

Hi,

I'm using a Ipaq 3970 w/ TomTom 3.03.
The Tomtom icon on my PPC desktop (Screen) is missing.
?????

I'm using TomTom Navigator on a 2210.

To get TomTom Navigator to appear on the "Today" screen, I did the following:
(1) Select "Start" / "Settings".
(2) Select "Today".
(3) Select the "Items" tab.
(4) Put a tick in the "TomTom" checkbox.
(5) Select "ok"

To get TomTom Navigator to appear in the Start menu, I did the following:
(1) Select "Start" / "Settings".
(2) Select "Menus".
(3) Put a tick in the "TomTom Navigator" checkbox.
(4) Select "ok"

It's a know bug in TTN3 that the shortcut will occasionally dissappear. You can download the shortcut here and place it in the Windows | Start Menu | programs folder.

When I first istalled TomTom 3.03 , the shortcut was there on the Today screen.

I then lost my battery power, & when I reinstalled the backup, the TT shortcut was not there on the Today Screen.... the bug that Darren mentioned... I can get it in the Start Menu , but not on the "Today" screen.

There is another way to get the Tom Tom Shortcut (or any other shortcut that u want) on the Today Screen ...

go to www.scottandmichelle.net ( thanks to Scott & Michelle )

and download & install "Launcher" ... with this application, one can put any shortcut on the "Today " screen

The today screen icon for TomTom is installed as part of the TomTom Wizard (not TomTom Traffic Wizard). If you uninstall this, the today screen icon dissapears.

There is an easier way which I ought to have mentioned if you have CheckPOInt installed.

Configure CheckPOInt to launch TomTom when it is started and to exit CheckPOInt when TomTom is exited.
Then configure a hardware button to launch CheckPOInt.

This will work regardless of whether the TTN Shortcut exists or not and allows you to recover some screen real estate from the TomTom Today Plug-In.
