I am quite happy with my unit apart from one thing which drives me batty which is the way it announces road numbers. If I go on a road with a 4 digit number such as the A1123 it announces it as "A One Thousand One Hundred and Twenty Three". Is there any way to make it say either "A Eleven Twenty-Three" or "A One One Two Three"?

If not how do I raise a change request with Garmin? I use the British male voice with TTS (Daniel?)

You can't change it, it is what it is. This is a new departure for Garmin, with earlier maps you got street names. Some software updates have helped, so make sure you're running the latest software.

That won;t be something you can change yourself. We went though the same issue with Tomtom and they eventually re-wrote the software so it's a lot better, but it still doesn't please everybody all the time.

It's also a not so simple... there are times when you DO want the road ID said as a complete number, eg

A10 needs to be "Ay Ten", not "Ay one-oh"

A100 needs to be "Ay one hundred"
A101 wants to be "Ay one-oh-one"
A110 wants to be "Ay one-ten" OR "Ay one, one-oh"

A2000 wants to be "Ay two thousand"
A2001 wants to be "Ay two double-oh one" OR "Ay twenty oh-one"

So do all Garmins use the same pronunciation of road numbers?

I have no idea. It depends on how the software developers for each device have implemented it. Assuming all software is up to date I'd like to think it is all the same, but who knows Twisted Evil

Edit: Just back from a trip. Very strange. In some places B2133 was announced as B two one three three, in others as B two thousand one hundred and thirty three. A281 was announced as A two eight one.Guess it just depends what has been entered into the map database. Must say I don't mind either ... It's a vast improvement on just getting street names!
