have JUST recieved my TomTom GO unit, and had it charging on the desktop next to the PC with the USB cable connected
My son (13) thought it was a small LCD tv I thin, managed to turn it on, found it wasnt what he thought it was, so left it alone........ usually a GOOD move!
Not this time
He was dl mp3s and found a new storage device, found it full of stuff he though he had accidentally put on it, so delete the lot
Now, im new to this, and hadnt a clue, so I reinstalled the application from the CD and turned it on, no maps!
I then reinstalled the map of GB, turned it on, not activated!
I have now activated via the TT Website, and I also installed the newest version of the sortware
When I fist took delivery of this, I had sat signals, it knew where I was, but because there was nothing in the batteries I put it on charge... now when I turn it on, its telling me there is no signal whatsoever
Anyone know what to do?
I really need this unit for tonight, im suppose to be navigating to somewhere in Wales, so please, if you can help me, let me know

I accidently when picking up the Go released my SD card when the unit was on, the unit would not switch back on/off and there was a faint glow from the display...
So pressing the small rest switch with a paperclip fixed the problem.
Don't know if that will help you... _________________ Regards Steve :-)

will try it and see what happens
I'm worried as I have checked the TomTOm Webby for help, and it says that it can take up to 40 mins from a new start to find the GPS, its now been well over an hour since its been on, and nothing so far
The GPS Spinny thing is going round, so i know its looking for the sats, but I have the message "No valid GPS signal"
Its stood ona glass tumbler in front of a big window at the moment, so I will leave it til I go to work, if it doesnt find anything, will reset and try again
