Hi, I know you must have had this a thousand times before but I cannot find any info on my problem, the problem being my 720 has frozen on the start up screen. I can connect to Home and do all the updates and look at all the files but when I disconnect from my pc it just goes to the start up screen and won't go any further. Also I cannot turn it off, the only way to do this is to press the reset button, I have ran the flash tool app. and this makes no difference.
Any suggestion will be greatly received.

You could try either deleting MapSettings.cfg, or if you have settings you don't want to lose, use HOME and Operate my GO to add a new POI location.

Don't forget to use Eject or Remove hardware safely before disconnecting.

If that doesn't work, then we can try something else. Smile

I suggest you go through the steps I've laid out (in order) in these two topics on another forum:

Old style TomTom Acting Up? - Part 1 - First Steps In System Recovery

Old style TomTom Acting Up? - Part 2 - How To reinstall *fresh* Software using Home

But for any model of that age, once you have tried the obvious suggestions and it's still giving problems, I would start to suspect that the internal memory is beginning to fail. That's happened to at least two of my TomToms and the answer is to simply move everything from the internal storage onto a suitably-sized SD card.

I thought you'd mention the internal memory as a source of possible problems. Time to say again I appreciate all you, and several others, have taught me.
