complete beginner

dont shout at me if its already been asked.i have recieved my ipaq 1940 pocket pc.i havnt got a clue about how to get started with the gps stuff.what do i need to buy and what software do i need.can i surf the internet in the middle if a park say?if so how or is it to do with the gps in general.sorry to be a pain just dont want to get it wrong.

You need a bluetooth GPS to connect to the Ipaq, via a car cradle. The 1940 apparently has no proper com port so a wired gps won't work. Tomtom told me this a little too late after PC W**** sold me the wrong kit.
Then you need some software. And a car to drive round in.
