hi all
I have come accross a Leadtek GPS 9534 and have no idea how to get this thing working.

I have installed the GPS 9534 plus the Winfast Navigator. The software sees the hardware, when i press the connect button Navigator seems to start scanning, it seems to find one Satalite but the Fix indicator stays red. there is data transferr that i can see but nothing seems to happen..

Please help

I had the same problem It seems that is is able to see enought satelites but never a fix. The indicator staid red. The solution is simple. Download a new version of navigator and your problems will be fixed. I never had problems with tomtom just with navigator refusing to fix

There's only two versions of WinFast Navigator and I have never had problems with either version so I suspect you were just lucky and got a fix after installing the later version.

If you're only getting one sat, or all sats in a vertical position (one on top of each other) then it's because the GPS doesn't have the full data in the Almanac or Ephemeris Tables and it needs to do a complete factory fix. The quickest this will take is 12.5 mins, but depending on view of the sky, whether you are behind an athermic windscreen, and local interference it could easily take 45 mins. Once you have the fix, leave it powered for atleast an hour and this will charge the on-board battery/capacitor and will then stop you from having to re-download the complete almanac again giving you much faster fixes at sub 1 min.
