installing gps cameras to start 20

anybody help with problem i,m having with my tomtom when the file is in the box and i click install it just says we are unable to complete this task as another programme is updating your device,is anything ever straightforward with these things,thanks in advance.

I think we need a bit more information about what you're trying to do (we could guess, but might be on the wrong track completely!)

Are you trying to install TomTom's OWN camera database, or one from somewhere else? (such as the one from this site).

Where exactly are you when you say "when the file is in the box and i click install"?
Are you using TomTom "Home" at that point? What file? What box?

(Normally if you are updating cameras with Home, you just tick a box next to the file names for the various countries).

As an aside... I'd recommend you look at the camera database from here rather than TomTom's own offering anyway.
