|
|
I've purchased a Garmin Dakota 20, but can't connect to MapSource.
In MapSource, I have the map. But it won't transfer to the unit.
I've updated all the drivers, including software for the Dakota 20.
The unit is visible as a virtual drive in Windows explorer. Still, MapSource won't transfer the maps when asked to.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
My OS is Windows Vista. |

Would help if you told us which maps you're trying to transfer and where they came from?
However if you have maps in Mapsource that came from another Garmin you probably can't transfer them as they'll be locked to the original device. |

The map is Topo Pro CD4 Bergen (Norway).
Bought (used) on original CD. |

Have no experience of that map, but you should be able (if it's going to work) to select the map tiles using the map select tool (the tiles you select then turn pink) and send them to your Dakota. |

Thanks a LOT!
That actually worked. I had to update the MapSource program, then highlight the chosen maps with the tiles.
Voila, the map was transferred to my unit.
We're happy! |
