The internal memory is 1.86 GB.
Used space is 378 MB.
Free Space is 1.49 GB.
It only has the UK & ROI map installed, not the Europe map. So what have I actually got? Is this a Go 750 Live without the Europe map? Very odd.
Edited to amend error (MB to GB). |

You have indeed a 750 (from an hardware point of view).
There may be different explanations on why:
- it's a refurb
- they run out of the 550 hardware and they are using the 750 hardware for both versions. This may well be since the series x50 is out of production
As I said the internal memory is the only difference between the two models. All the rest is EXACTLY the same, even the external case.
You can try entering the serial number (on the bottom of the device) on the Tomtom website and see which model it states:

I've put the first two letters of my serial number - W4 - into that link. The result is...
GO 750 LIVE - 2GB
That would seem to settle matters. The TomTom was bought new from Comet, still sealed up in original cellophane/box.
I think your guess that - "they run out of the 550 hardware and they are using the 750 hardware for both versions. This may well be since the series x50 is out of production" - is probably right. |

So I enter W3, and it says: GO 750 / 550 LIVE - 1GB
Assume non-live 750s are W3 designated. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

Same here - bought a 550, turns out it's a 750 with UK maps.
I had noticed the 2Gb internal memory, but hadn't registered it to be incorrect for a 550.
