tom tom poi distance alerts lost

just loaded a map update from tom tom and have now lost all my distance alerts for poi. its a pain in the bum to reset all cameras and others. are my poi in the wrong file location. at the moment they are in the western europe map location.

No, you've done it right, the map folder is the correct location.

When TomTom Home upgrades your map, it ALWAYS used to lose the file that has all your settings (MapSettings.cfg).

TT have made great efforts to fix that, and a lot of people now find it DOES copy the file across correctly.

However I'm afraid it still fails for a significant number of people for some unknown reason.

If you have made a backup of your system before you did the update (if not, you REALLY should have done...) then you should be able to find that file in your backup's map folder and copy it into the new one, replacing the new file of the same name.

Sometimes this doesn't work at first, causing the device to re-boot when you switch it on. The "fix" for that is to run the on-screen emulator in "Home" and add a new favourite. That re-writes the file and makes it usable.
