I have a Garmin 1340 T and have uploaded custom pois for certain hotel chains. When I attempt to Navigate To one of these hotels which I know is contained within the file I am not offered anything more than approx 250 kilometres away. Is this normal and is there a way round it please? |

Unfortunately yes this is the norm, the device uses your current location so you need to fool the sat nav into thinking it’s in the approximate location where you are looking for a hotel…… this is what I do on my nuvi 1490
Fire up your sat nav…… Tap on the “Where To?” icon, then tap on the word “Near” on the next screen (in the bottom menu bar),
On the next screen select the “A Different City “ button, then tap “OK” which brings up the keyboard,
Type in a city, town or village close to where you want to find your poi and select it from the suggested list.
This will return you to the Where To icon screen to select your built in or Extra poi’s, the suggested list poi list will include poi’s close to the location you chose,
Hope this helps………. |

Thanks very much, that certainly works on the 1340T also. It's solved my problems when driving across a big country like France. |
