Please can anyone advise me if there is a limit to the number of warnings that can be set on the Go730?

I'm sure there is but it would probably be limited by the number of POIs installed first, why?

In my case [aging memory] I can probably remember the meaning of up to about 5 sounds. This is why I prefer spoken warnings, including those in my own rich Thames estuary twang. Rolling Eyes

As Darren says, I think the maximum number of POI categories is the limiting factor, not the number set to have warning sounds or voices.

I think the limit is still 250 on all recent software.

If you manage to set 250 POI warings up with OGG sound files the device will be constantly nagging you about the surrounding area, I find it bad enough in the car with 30+ speed camera warnings and the odd cow mooing when I pass a certain fast food outlet with a large "M" outside.

I doubt I could stand all the POI files set for warnings as you would hear nothing but the nav unit - Mike

Depends what your POIs are warning you of!
He might have loads of categories of very rare places. Smile

Thanks for all the comments. Some time ago I experienced an apparent problem whilst using the PGPSW peed camera database. If I set warnings for all Gatsos, Confirmed Mobile Locations and Specs, then added 4/5 other spoken warnings eg Little Chef, Macdonalds, Dining Pubs, Harvester, LloydsTSB ATMs etc, one or more of the PGPSW camera warnings did not operate. Since that time I have typically only used the PGPSW camera warnings for Gatsos and Specs cutting out the audible warning of Mobile Locations, so that I can add other journey specific info (not limited to those listed earlier).

Those symptoms suggest you have more POIs installed than the device supports.
