How to install Poi

I am a new owner of the Garmin 1490T. After some research I decided that Pocketgps World was the best and most informative site to help me, my only problem is that it seems to assume that all of its subscribers are bordering on the 'expert' users.
I want to install some POI's. I've downloaded and extracted them and put them on an 8GB micro SD card, but my device can't see them.
Is there anywhere on this site that can give me precise, step by step instructions on how to install my chosen POI's?
I also want to download and install the speed camera's but I don't have the confidence/ability to do this with out the 'simple to follow', instructions.

The instructions for POIs and speed cameras are the same as the speed camera database is just another POI file.

When loading POI and speed cameras together you need to load all the files at the same time as POILoader deletes any already installed POIs before loading the new ones.
