Swapped from tomtom to Garmin 660 and used it this weekend on a trip to london and found that the camera alert beep is annoyiin the fact that it goes off so many times (a constant beep beep beep) can it be set to only sound once.
Also can the instruction on the turn to make is also repeated four or five times can this be set to sound only once or twice
Thanks Martin Confused

On a similar theme, I get annoyed when the bongs are warnings for a different road! On the M56 near Manchester, every overpass gives out 40mph warnings over and over, even though it's clearly a 70mph zone.

Also, why do I get speed warnings for, say, 40mph zone, when I'm only doing 20mph in traffic??? I thought the warning was for if I strayed over 40.

Sorry for the mini hijack of the thread, but the questions are similar I think.

Not the answer, but you could turn off the Garmin bongs, install the PGPSW ones and put your own sounds to them - including silence - so they will just pop up on screen or just alert you to the ones (ie POI group) you are interested in...

You only get persistent / repeated 'bongs' on approach to a camera POI if you are over the set speed limit. Easy way around this is to slow down Wink

Something else to check is whether you have it set correctly when you installed the speed cameras. If you have POILoader set to 'KPH and Meters' then a 30mph camera will warn constantly at anything over 19mph.

I get the bongs, even 5mph below the speed limit, yes, it's set to mph.

Martin and Redmick - how are you installing the POIs? are you using anything like Ash10's software or CBROM's GPX convertor?

Do you have the latet software for your nuvi?
