have been using my tomtom with my toshiba e350 for a while now with no real problems........i have just be given streetpilotIII on a long term loan,,,,thought i would use it for work as im out and about all day....find it a total waste of time as it cannot find roads that input into it.....but when i look it up on the a to z and then i go down that road it comes up on the screen????? also going up the m4 the other day sort of knew where i was going, needed to come of junction 3 from london but streetpilotIII wanted to take me to junction 6 and back town to junction 3....and the off route seems to take ages on my toshiba its instant. I can drive for ages before it says off route and if i keep driving by the time it has re-calculated a new route it has to do it all again as i am not in that postion anymore.....i did not re-install the software it is as i got it....is this how they are or is it a problem
many thanks

Hi Rob-Bob,
I have just joined and reading your posting i can say that i have also experienced similar problems. When you are putting the address in are you also adding the optional city and postcode? I have discovered that putting the city in and leaving the post code out helps, also in finding streets, get the first name of the street up, for instance Stevens lane, (fictional) just put stevens, enter and scroll to fine stevens lane. For some weird reason this does work, and no matter how hard you try lane will never appear while entering the words in.
As far as the speed of off route recalculating, check that the route setting in the menu is not set to BEST ROUTE as this will take ages in finding new routes, best left on BETTER ROUTE.
At the end of the day i have found that the GPS system is great, but needs to be used in conjunction with a map, if the street is not there then i find one on a map that is close to it and enter that in, problem that bugs me with them is if the street has no building numbers then you can't get it to find the street, it has to have a number!
