Lost Qtly Map Update offers????

Had no problem with my identical GO520 but having difficulty with Qtly map udates for a friend.

He has App 8.351 & UKROI 8.40 - Qtly updates paid for.

Took a windows back up.

Went to update Qtly map via Home. Was offered map update but told "not enough room"

I know this happens sometimes but no problem as he had given me a 2GB SD card as he wanted to add (one off) Cen Europe for August anyway.

Transferred the backup to the SD card and inserted it into device but now when I go into Home I have lost the offer???? In fact I am being offered to chance to purchase Qtly map updates!

If I remove the SD card and connect via the GO internal memory I still get no offer to update.

HELP please....................

The new V850 Western_Europe map is more like 2,3GB in size, Home should offer you one of four zones to get the size down below 2GB, a better solution would be a 4GB card though then you can get the entire map in one hit which is far less messing about - Mike

Mike, you misunderstand my problem. I probably didn't explain it very well.

I haven't got as far as paying for & downloading the Central Europe map (1330mb I understand).......That can be sorted later. That is just the reason I happened to have an SD card on hand.

All I am trying to do at the moment is get the latest UKROI Qtrly map update from Home. It has been paid for but it isn't offering it to me. The device still has map 8.40 on it. All I get in Home is a message saying there are no items available to install???

How are you trying to get the updated map? Through Home's Add Maps? Or via the Update my Unit?

Try both..........

Tried both. All I get is Quick fix & Map share from "Update my GO"..............& the offer to subscribe to Qtly Map Updates from "Update my Map"...............which is already subscribed to! Rolling Eyes

Hi

Are you using a different Email address for your friends Tomtom, you can not use the same Email address for more than one device.

I'm using his Email address & password. Logged in as him.

The device is recognised as connected
