Are you guys with the comma problem using western & central europe?

My referb 930 does it, but the 520 didn't with UK & RoI.

At least I can hear the problem now...

I guess the road names are stored slightly differently then.
I'll work on it Smile

Here are is some more info:

\Nx reads numbers as individual digits ie. 10 = one, zero

Western_and_central_Europe_2GB v845.2645

I tried to put UK/ROI map from my Tomtom One on the 730 to see if it was the map or the app version but just couldn't get it to work with the 730 so gave up...

I've got removal of the , and . working ok, without the road names being spelt out.

For some reason now on my W&CE map mt B roads arn't being replaced properly, although the As are fine.

They are ok on mt UK map. They must have a different formay for them for some reason.

Anyway, updating to W&CE 850 now, so we'll see if it's the same after that.

If it's all working I'll re-do the zip for testing again.

@notones, each map is locked/coded to a specific TT device, so you can't move them, even within the same model range.

@MARViN, is the B road problem the same one you found the solution to back here?

Ok, I've cut the rules down to 3, removing any , . ; : before the road name and made sure that the name isn't spelled out.

New roadnrEnglishGB.rex

Code:
"(^|[ \t]+)([A|B])[ \-]*([1-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])?([;:,\.]?)($|[ \t]+)" = "\1 \s \2 \Nx \3 \4 \Nx \5 \6 \pause=120 \spell=no \8 "
"(^|[ \t]+)([A|B|M])[ \-]*([1-9][0-9])([;:,\.]?)($|[ \t]+)" = "\1 \s \2 \Nr \3 \pause=120 \spell=no \5"
"(^|[ \t]+)([A|B|M])[ \-]*([1-9])([;:,\.]?)($|[ \t]+)" = "\1 \s \2 \3 \pause=120 \spell=no \5 "

These rules seem to miss a B road near me for some reason, but again only in the W&CE and not UK&RoI.

Give it a try, all feedback welcome.

Thanks.

Unfortunately I'm hopefully not straying too far tomorrow, but I appreciate your effort and will report back once I have something constructive to contribute.

g8 work m8, and yep most comma and dots fixed still getting semicolon on some a roads (not in all directions)

turing onto a381 a379 going towards churchstow i get semicolon but back in the other direction its fine,

turning onto a road off the [a381] marked up on the map as (A379/a381/b3264 [w cockworthy road]) no name gets announced, but in the other diection just the name is announced and not the [a379/a381/b3264]

i can post google map points if it will help.

most b roads ive come across with a name announce the name in one direction and the b-number in the other very weird!

i updated my map to WCE850 on tthome

also zip download link didnt work for me

Thanks for all the work your putting into this...

Been following this thread with interest as I don't like the pronunciation at times.
Has there been any other feedback on just renaming "cphoneme.dat" as to whether it affects the pronunciation of foreign names whilst using TT on the continent?
I like the idea of getting it to say the road numbers correctly but will wait a little longer before installing your fix whilst you iron out the bugs. Great work!!
