Hi there

Just wondering if anyone has come accross a problem of very laggy updating whilst driving and if so whether theres a known solution?
I have a Nuvi 265wt and am struggling with the time it takes to communicate where Ive actually driven - this is particularly problematic when there are a number of turns in a short time and the device seems to lag way behind meaning I cant actually see clearly where I need to go.

Is there anything simple that could be causing this?
Help appreciated!
Lone

Have you too many POI's on view. If you have, de-select them and try again.

Any chance you could confirm the process for selecting which are 'on view' on the garmin.
I do have POIs installed but none of them actually appear on the map (which I believe is an issue with the zooming required on a garmin)

How many categories (other than the Speed Camera database) have you loaded? i.e. BP Fuel, Sainsburys etc?

Okay, so my problem is definitely the number of POIs I have loaded on the system.
Problem is...if I deselect 'custom pois' then I lose the cameras as well as all the others.

Is there anyway of seperating the camera db from all the other POIs. I want the pois on my system so I can select them as destinations but I really dont need them showing up 'as I travel' so to speak - whereas obviously I need the cameras on full time.

You can seperate the POIs into different files but i thought the POIs only appeared when you either a) set them as a destination or b) they had some proximity alert infoirmation (i.e. the PGPSW Speed Camera Database.

When you load the POIs and database are you using the Express option?

And how many categories are you loading?

Thanks for the reply,
Im not sure specifically how many Im loading - is there a simple way to tell?
I am using the express option.

Maybe the other POIs dont have any proximity alert information, but they definitely seem to be whats slowing the system down. I dont really mind if they appear or not, but I need to get my system working at a manageable speed again and it seems that having the custom pois ticked is causing the slowdown

Count the number of POI (CSV) files you are loading. You should find them in your POILoader upload folder on your PC. Don't count the PocketGPSWorld Speed Camera Database.

i.e. Sainsburys.csv, Fuel.csv, Banks,csv would be 3....

You may have to face the fact you are loading too many categories and reduce the number of categories. Sometimes this might be simple. For example if you have Esso.csv, BP.csv and Texaco.csv loaded it would be better to load combine them into one file as it appears to be the number of CATEGORIES and not the number of POIs you load that affects it. Load too many and the unit will slow down.
