TomTom say HD2 is not supported. Do they want our custom?

I'm beginning to think that all my preconceptions are very out of date (smartphone, OS, navigation software - all of it!)

I have now almost certainly decided to go for an Android phone instead of the HD2 (HTC Desire instead) and so that rules out TT altogether.

I was looking forward to using Google Navigation, but it's not (YET) available in Europe. I had ruled out CoPilot - but this was based on what I saw of it 3-4 yeas ago. The latest version 8 looks rather good. So I will probably go for that in the interim and for when I don't have data access after Google Navigation arrives in Europe.

And I'm now rather off-topic on this thread!

Looking at TT site I now see that the HD2 is listed as compatible and that Nav 7 is now available from the site!

I have pretty much decided to go for an HTC Desire Android handset and to try out the Google Navigation option now it is available in the UK.

I have TTN7 working on my HD2.

Does anyone know if the HD2 is compatible with microSD HC cards? My 2 gig is a bit small and I wanted to get a bigger one.

Does the HTC HD2 have a good TT refresh rate? - No more juddering?

Also is it good at handling POI being shown on the map, as opposed to them being only warn when near?

Slightly off topic I know, but I WAS going to go down the HD2 and TTN7 route, but as I researched things more I decided to go for Android and the HTC Desire. My new phone arrived two days ago and it's just remarkable how HTC's phone technology has moved on in three years. My Tytn II looks like an antique by comparison.

There are a lot of things I will miss about TTN, but I think they are mostly about being used to how it works. I'm expecting that in a few months time I will be just as used to Google Navigation as I was with TTN.

The 3D view of TTN is better, and more flexible, but the animation is not as smooth as Google Nav. I prefer the 'Jane' voice on TTN to the synthesised voice in Google, but the Google has an unlimited vocab, including street names.

Anyway, I will no doubt be a frequent visitor to the Android-related sections of the forum from now on

The device can work with SDHC type cards and the largest available is 32GB in the SDHC format, if a device works with SDHC it will accept a memory card with 32GB capacity, the main issue with these cards is one of cost - Mike
