Nuvi 255w register on not?

Hello , I've just purchased my Nuvi 255w and thought I would register the unit. I logged onto Mygarmin website but I keep getting a runtime error when trying to register the device which then closes down explorer.

Are there any advantages in registering my Nuvi?

Its loaded with software version v5.30
Gps sw v 3.10b
Map- cn Europe NT 2010.10

The advantage of registering is you will be able to upgrade your maps. You have 60 days after registering to upgrade once. Currently maps V2010.20 is available.

You will also contniue to get firmware updates.
