Sorry, I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to this kind of thing..

I'm a bit annoyed at the moment, I've just shelled out £40 for the latest UK map for my TomTom One V3 (having previously not updated my map since I bought my device in Dec 07) and now I'm getting the 'No maps found' message when I switch on my TT.

I've done everything TT's help page suggests, I just thought I'd consult the experts here before contacting (their not always helpful) email help team. I have checked all the needed files are in the correct locations, and they are, and I've also re-copied the map from my computer using TT Home.

Stupidly, I didn't back up my previous (6.something) map Embarassed

I thought I'd c&p this info in case it gives any clues

Quote:
TT Home version: = 2.7.2.1825

Installed add-ons = Map status indicator 1.7, TomTom HOME default theme 1.0.2, Emulator 7.163.8493.3

ttgo.bif file contents:
[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v6)
RamDiskVersion=20040301
BootLoaderVersion=10012
LinuxVersion=1000
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7162
ApplicationVersion=8492
UserLanguage=English UK

Thanks guys, I really appreciate any help you can give Smile

First thing to try is running the "ClearFlash" utility.
Find it on THIS PAGE.

Two things:
1. Does the CF really help in this situation? I learn something new every day. Thanks.
2. I know it's 'normal' time where I am. What the blazes are YOU still doing up, Andy! Shocked

Didn't work Sad

Could it be anything to do with my application version? or navcore? [though I'm not entirely sure what it is]

(I think I'll try the clearflash app in the morning , though it sounds a bit scary)

Thanks for your help so far Smile

Does it matter that I don't have an SD card as my TT is v3?

It is nothing to do with whether your device has an SD card or not, the clear flash is to wipe a small area of memory that cannot be accessed from the PC, in your case its well worth trying.

Can you tell us which Navcore you have installed? to do this you start the device and tap the sat strength meter lower right, next tap the version box and the resultant page will show all sorts of information about the device including the software version.

If you only get the No Map Found message when you start the unit another way to get the Navcore version is as follows:

Connect to the PC, shut down TomTom Home and use Windows Explorer to locate the drive letter associated with your TomTom, click it to reveal the contents. Find the file ttgo.bif right click this and select Open With/ choose NotePad which will reveal the contents of the file:

[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom ONE
DeviceVersionHW=ONE (v7)
DeviceSerialNumber=Y12345F12345
DeviceUniqueID=VWXYZ VWXYZ
RamDiskVersion=20070705
BootLoaderVersion=53006
LinuxVersion=2711
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=7101
ApplicationVersion=8427

UserLanguage=English UK

We only need the two lines in Blue, the numbers you have will be different to those above (I hope) as this data was taken from a very old file on my PC - Mike

Thanks Ali - had I read that lot it might have saved me some typing!!!

Right so your application is well out of date which will explain why the map doesn't want to play ball, you can connect the device to TomTom Home and use the Update my Go function to download/ install the latest Navcore.

AFAIK the One Third Edition runs Navcore 8,010 whether this is the very latest software for it I am not too sure - Mike

On that page, one of the things TomTom say the ClaerFlash is actually for is
Quote:

* You are unable to activate the map on your TomTom device even though you have a valid product code.

.. although it often seems to help for other things that they don't mention as well!

How you getting on Bob?
TomTom agree with Mike... Laughing
They always say that you should update to the latest software available before you download a new map.

When I click on Update my One, it says there are no updates available , so I don't know how to update my Navcore Sad

Just done some Googling: would anyone recommend me this?

In that case, maybe either Home is playing up (it does that a lot) or it isn't a One 3rd Edition.
Whatis the number on the base that looks something like 4N01.000?

That's a complete new one on me!
Before you spend money on something like that, it's pretty easy to install the software yourself manually.
Once we know the model version, we can suggest the right software version to use. All you'll need is a download link and a few easy instructions.

Yep that's the one- 'TT One 3rd Edition (512MB) (4N01,000)'

Well if it's definitely the outdated Navcore that's the problem, and it's easy to fix, then I'm really happy it's not (hopefully) going to take to olong to sort out Very Happy

Which software version do I need Andy ? Smile
