I bought my TT GO 730 when they were launched in the UK. The main reason I was drawn to it was the much hyped HD Traffic facility. All the advertising for the Go *30's implied HD Traffic was just around the corner for the devices. Well HD Traffic has been in the UK for a while now for the Go *40's. If the Go *30 series are not going to get HD Traffic, then surely Tomtom must be in breach of the advertising laws?

There *is/was* an accessory HD Traffic receiver...
Unfortunately, for reasons they've never explained, it's launch in the UK was stopped and in fact I think it was only ever made available in Holland.
You're not the only one who feels cheated by this decision after all the pre-sales hype.

If you log in to the TomTom site and select Netherland as your location you get the following made available as accessories:

Is er een uitweg uit de file? Met de TomTom HD Traffic Receiver weet je het zeker!
As these devices are locked to the country they are sold in then these would be useless in the UK, I wonder if they have plans to introduce roaming capability as offered with the newer XL Live and retro fitted to the x40 range, if this were to happen - Mike

I think Tomtom should offer a rebate or generous part exchange for Go *30 owners to enable them to upgrade to Go *40. I have noticed that they are still selling the Go *30 range at the same price as they were sold when they were introduced. They have not reduced the prices to reflect the non-availability of the HD Traffic function.
Tomtom appear to have a very strange way of treating their customers, I regret changing from Garmin to Tomtom. At least the Garmin mapping is more up to date! I was disappointed when I updated my UK map, to discover that a roundabout built near my home 5 years ago, was not on the latest map? I know road updates take time to filter through, but in excess of 5 years is surely unacceptable?
Legally, no they were not. They promised HD Traffic support, which they do do if you live in Holland. They do not legally have to make the accessory available. I can't see any reason why they don't other than to try and boost the sales of LIVE devices. IMHO the more people with HD traffic, the more accurate the information and the more monthly revenue as a recurring revenue stream for TomTom. So why they haven't released it is a mystery.

I think maybe we are getting confused and think that TT actually care about their customers! Actually all we are perceived as is gullible mugs who once we have had our wallets prised open we are easy prey for TT to get more cash from. _________________ Iphone 7 running IOS 11.1.2
