Thanks for that; sorry I didn't keep detailed info of what happened and as I stated I have reverted my system back to the way it was with 1.203 installed and that made the problems go away (except the need to run End It All before starting SatSync which remained.) If that had been cured it may have been worth leaving the updated version on as there must be some conflict that totally paralyses my system to the extent it has to be disconnected from the mains before it will boot up again. However as I couldn't see any useful new features that couldn't be accessed by other means already the overheads of the older version seemed much less intrusive when I may only run it once every couple of months or so. As there is no real need to run SatSync just because the SatMap has had an outing, the more compact and unobtrusive the installation of SatSync the better (for me anyhow.) The old version still seems to work OK with the latest SatMap firmware, albeit having to run End It All first. When I get a moment I'll stop the processes one by one to determine which one is causing the lockup, but it will take a while having to switch off and reboot each time

The .NET trying to contact the internet was caught by my firewall each time I started the software, not sure why it should want to phone home at all.

The info regarding installing different versions of SatSync could perhaps have been advised on the download page as I wouldn't normally consider installing software for the wrong version of the operating system. As the only user of the system, user accounts are not an issue for me and the fewer the running processes the more efficient the PC.
