Well, a bit of eye candy in the markers on the map view and a different way (anti-aliasing?) of drawing the screen plus FM transmission back.

Other than that has it fixed any of the other problems?

NO!!!

mp3 playback still at a significantly lower volume than the directions and no way of adjusting it independently.

Hands free still rubbish and keeps locking up etc

Still getting 'stuttering' and missing bits of words

Map lags behind your position whilst directions are being read out

If I hadn't subscribed to the map update the 920 would be on ebay by now!

Like Dennis, I too am still waiting for a fully functional Navcore over 18 months after purchasing my 920, it still isn't a Ronseal!!

My 540 is running much better. Finds satelittes quicker and the blackberry phone book problem has been corrected.

Do you know how TT do their beta testing?

Anyone involved in Beta testing for any of the major players in the GPS Navigation industry will have signed off a non disclosure agreement, as such they are not permitted to discuss such information - Often its better to stay tight lipped and say nothing - Mike

Is anyone having problems with the voice and the pocketgps cameras?

My voice is Kate but my tomtom is now telling me that it is not a computer voice only a recorded voice.

I have checked in home and it's the 48meg version but it won't read the poi details for anything or the cameras

Nope, all working as expected. Did you mess about with different voice versions to try to cure the stuttering. I never did and it all seems OK on both a 940 and a 720.

Yes i put the version 710 kate voice on, following instructions off here.

Hi all, and many tanks for all who have given me help in the past.

I have just updated my 520 and have NOT been offered the loatest Navcore upgrade. Does anyone know the reason why, please?

Then you will have made a full backup prior to putting the 7,10 voices and Navcore 8,320 on the device as this was the first step in the instructions, simply copy the LoquendoTTS Kate voice folder from the backup to the device if you think its this that is causing problems - Mike

After the upgrade on my 730 all seemed ok, but now I keep losing the alerts for the pocketgps cams and tomtom cams. A hard reset cures it but not for long. Any ideas on a fix for this?

What Navcore version have you got installed on the device, tap the sat strength meter followed by the version box which will inform you of whats installed to the device - Mike

I had same problem with 530. I deleted the application via TT home and reinstalled it and it now works fine.

Sorry but 8,300 introduced the stammering this was improved with 8,302 but some users still had issues, the last non stammering Navcore was 8,010 AFAIK - Mike

Abso-bluddy-lutely. That bargain map price was a crock of doodoo. I recently got back my old GO700 from son in law (gave him a 720 for it - sucker!) and it's running app 6.520, with map 675.1409. Y'know what? I can hear the hands free, it doesn't crash hands free, it sends me down the same route to my destination as the 920 virtually every time - on the rare occasions when they offer different routes, arrival time is VERY close on both and it's a lottery as to which offers the shortest (fuel cheapest) route. I've already paid out my cash on the map update thing, so I'll keep the 920 until that runs out. I offer my humblest apologies to anybody who listened to my recommendation (long ago) to take the map update program and who is now, like me, tied to it rather than dump it on e-bay.

GRRRR, TomTom, bluddy GRRRR!!

Edited to add..... By the way, have you noticed, here we go again? A mere thirty hours after we hear from Darren about the latest navcore release and already we're up to EIGHT PAGES!

Unfortunately, yes.

It will run fine for weeks and then just start again - nowhere near as bad as on 8.300, it is now more like missing the odd word or repeating the same word - "in a hundred yards yards turn right"

The only way of curing it seems to be to wipe the unit and reinstall everything from fresh, as well as doing a hard reset, a soft reset and a couple of clear flashes for good measure!

It seems to start about two hours in to a journey and then it is time to start all over again!

I am still using Kate 6.93 as this is the latest voice released for the x20 series - it may be better if I put the 7.10 Kate on but TT have agreed to extend my map update by the period of time it takes them to fix this. As far as I am concerned I will only put on the device what is offered through HOME, no unofficial work arounds.
