Our review XL IQ Routes Edition has just arrived and very sleek it looks too in it's new black case.

Does that mean we can expect a review then soon Darren?

Out of interest, apart from a wider screen (of course!), do you think the XL models have any other advantages over the standard ones?

Only just received it an hour ago but yes I'll be penning a review ASAP. I don't think the XL offers anything more apart from the wide-screen but then that is a big plus IMHO.

Hmmm... I was seriously thinking of changing my order, and going for the XL model instead, but have just received an email from Amazon informing me that it has been despatched... typical.

I know I could still send it back, but as am not driving all day, every day, the standard screen will still probably give me all the information I need.

Laughinggravy, does yours have the 'Itinery planning' feature as TT told me it does not, but it does show its there in the manual from TTs website and others have told me also its on the new IQ Ones and Xls?

I agree - small is beautiful. This is a great little device and it's so easy to remove the whole thing - GPS & holder and take it with you when you leave the car. I also have a GO730T and if I had seen the ONE IQ routes first I would not have bothered with the 730. Does exactly as I want and cannot wait to try it out on our touring holiday in Europe.

Well, thanks to Amazon (& to the Royal Mail) it was delivered safely at 8:30 am this morning, securely packed in one of their good strong boxes!

As tempting as it is to get it all "up and running", I am almost inclined to wait another week, possibly even until 1st May, in the hope that TomTom will release their next map upgrade before the end of May, which I will be able to get for free, under their 'latest maps guarantee' scheme.

I agree with Darren that the new black casing does look very smart indeed, and of course (thanks also to Amazon) I also have a new protective case to keep it in!

Mmmm! Could be that it is thought that as you have the XL edition, then the 'standard' ONE IQ routes edition might not have itinerary planning. Idea

Hi,

I would normally be more than happy to answer any questions in respect of my new TomTom (or any other device I own, come to that!), but as I mentioned in an earlier post, I am a bit loathe at the moment to 'start the clock ticking' as it were, in respect of my map update guarantee, as I don't really want to miss out on the chance of a free update in May.

Sensible! You only have a week to wait. Wink That is assuming a new map could be out at the end of May. What version map have you got at the moment? Because, the moment you do connect to HOME, you could be offered the latest build if the current one is not installed.
