Just to really rub it in I have now received an email from TomTom
saying "Your new map is ready for collection."
For a minute I thought it was a fix for the "You Cannot use this map on this device: Western_Europe_1GB" problem but there was nothing to download except the quick GPS fix.
So several days on I am still waiting for a fix from TomTom.
Has anyone else heard anything? Crying or Very sad

Thanks,

Just called them and they have confirmed that this is a certificate issue on the W&CE map.

They are still working on it but will probably have to send me a seperate file.

Finally sorted - I received an email today asking me to copy the attached file to my map folder. The only problem - there was no attachment. However on phoning TomTom they pointed me towards TomTom Home. The file was at the very bottom of my question history. Looks like its working OK now. Very Happy

Andy, Do you have a fix for the problem? I obtained the update to 825 two days ago and installed it yesterday onto my flash card and left the original maps on the hard drive. I now have the option of using the old v815 (which, for the time being, I am) or the new one. However, when accessing the Maps options via Manage Maps, Switch Maps, to change to the new maps, I am told that "Problem with Map. You cannot use this map on this device: Western_and-Central_Europe_2GB-26"

Yes, Mike, the .dct file, together with the .meta & .pna files are where they should be Wink

Am I the only one who has found numerous mistakes in the tomtom camera database after updating the map on my 720?
I travel regularly on the Wirral, Liverpool, Cheshire and North Wales.
So far I have come across 17 cameras that are either on the wrong side of the road, missing or are reversible cameras that are not listed as working both ways.
It seems the Tomtom database is trying to be too clever for its own good, it does not show cameras unless it decides they are on your route, and there is no way of just looking for the cameras on the map.
Even when I update the database the 720 does not recognise it has been updated.
Shambles, steer clear.

Only that whenever this problem has occured before it has ended up being that the .dct certificate is wrong, so TomTom have to provide you with a new one.

Well the problem seems to have sorted itself out, basically I plugged my device into the docking station to update any map correction files on the WCE map that I was using. Top of the list was the updated map for the UK & Republic of Ireland v825.2157 again, so I thought what the hell and let it do its thing. After updates were complete I was able to select the UK & Rep of Ireland map on my 920T device and all is well.

Many thanks for all the help in trying to sort the original problem of "not being able to use the UK & Rep of Ireland on this device fault"

Ta

Mac

Sorry Andy, I missed your response on Friday. I have contacted TT and suggested that my problem could be the wrong dct file/certificate, so now I am waiting on their response. They don't work at the weekend, so guess I might hear today.
