Thanks for your reply, marcelus54 has given me the macro and talked me though the set up. Works just as I hoped.
I have modified it a little, reducing the number of logs shown to 1. Saves scrolling to far to find the hint, not that I would ever use the hint ofcourse
I'll look forward to the full upgrade.

Using the macro mentioned above I have found some caches will not display properly on the Satmap, they seem to lose text wrap at some point in the text and as a result the info runs off the right side of the screen and is lost.
After a bit of head scratching I noticed it happens after there is a url link in the information text.
If you open the gpx file and remove url referances from the text it works as it should.
There are lots of URLs in the file but its not hard to spot the troublemakers as the text will refer to them and they don't have any HTTP markers against them eg "url" or sometimes "xml"
Bit of a fiddle but it's easier if you do it after you have saved it in GSAK and before you import it into Satmap. |

I have now been able to update the macro to try to automatically strip out url's. as described above. I have emailed it to everyone that I originally sent it to, if you have got hold of the macro via other sources other than me then I am happy to send it to you if you PM me with your email address. |

Hi guys, i spoke to Jason at Satmap the other day, i was badgering him about the release of Satsync for the MAC, he did mention to me that they are working on improving the geocaching ability by enabling a direct download of the LOC files from Geocaching.com. So it looks like work is being done in the background currently.
Cheers
Andy. |

That will be a small step in the right direction but LOC file only contain a small amount of info like the name and the way point, so I hope that they also take it a step further and allow for the GPX file to be loaded as well. |

It's currently possible to download the gpx file from Geocache.com, then import it into the Active10, I've done this, it will show on your device's map, but none of the additional comments or notes which can be found in the LOC file i believe. So you should be able to view the Cache as a POI and navigate to it.
I have not explored this function fully, so maybe someone could elaborate,
Good luck, |

It's the other way around, you can download the lOC file and import into Satsync. The GPX file is not in the format that Satmap recognises, so actually it may have been the GPX import that they were meaning when you spoke to them. It is the GPX format that contains all the information. If you would like my macro that can convert the gpx files into a format that satmap can handle just PM me and I'll send it to you. |
